The administration of Nandivan by our dedicated Gau Sevaks is perfectly aligned to the resolute vision of our Founders, which is to create a sanctuary for the Desi Cow breeds. Through generations of cross-breeding, the original indigenous breeds have seen a rapid decline in numbers, and we at Nandivan wish develop these breeds in order to raise the population, without compromising on the innate divine properties of the Gau Mata.

With the express instructions of our Founders, we have a zero tolerance policy towards any form of violence at Nandivan. Our Gau Matas are reared in the most traditional manner, with zero use of modern farming equipment which are detrimental to the physical and emotional health of cows across the world. Our Gau Sevaks go the extra mile to ensure the care and comfort of every Gau Mata at Nandivan. Ayurvedic principles have been categorically clear, that the rare, medicinal properties of the desi Gau Mata cannot be manifested in any Gau Mata who has been subjected to ill treatment, and this law forms Nandivan’s most important resolve.

With path-breaking research and development on these ancients breeds, we individually identify the nature of each Gau Mata, and curate a personalised daily routine for each, including but not limited to diet, exercise, rehabilitation, and care. In addition to our duty of care to the Gau Matas, we at Nandivan, strive to reintroduce the Vedic practice of Gau-centric living, a synthesis between Gau Care and Ayurved. Through our research in Ayurvedic medicinal chemistry, we are able to nurture the Gau Matas holistically, to promote not just a healthy generation of these rare breeds, but to ensure any by-products of the Gau Mata too, are vested with Ayurvedic qualities.

Organic

Farming

Nandivan is leading the way in organic farming in Madhapar. Due to commonplace agricultural practices, many farmers in the Kutch region have resorted to the use of chemicals, inorganic compounds, and fertilisers for their produce. These practices have led to higher yields, but have extremely harmful, health-related after effects. At Nandivan, our aim is to ensure the highest possible standard of fodder and feed for our Gau Matas, which in turn produce Ayurvedic grade by-products. Through our use of Jivamrit, a traditional mixture of dung, urine, cereals, and soil, we have been able to create a super-fertiliser, which is both nutritious for the soil, and is aligned to our commitment to organic living.
